Secure sharing for Hermes

Create one-time encrypted links for sensitive files and notes from Hermes Agent. NexFade receives ciphertext only; the decryption key stays in the link fragment.

Install the native plugin

Supports Hermes Agent v0.20.6 or newer and Python 3.11–3.13. Installation never enables the plugin automatically.

Privacy boundary

Files are encrypted locally in 8 MiB chunks. NexFade receives ciphertext, encrypted metadata, and quota-required sizes; the decryption key is appended to the recipient URL locally and never sent to NexFade.

Note text, an explicit path or filename, and the returned full link may remain in Hermes conversation history. File bytes stay local.

Setup

  1. 1. Install and explicitly enable the plugin.
  2. 2. Run hermes nexfade setup and approve the browser code.
  3. 3. Approve a root with hermes nexfade roots add /absolute/path.
